5 Easy Ways To Declutter Your Kitchen

Declutter Your Kitchen

Decluttering your kitchen can be a daunting task. There are many things that you need to take into account before jumping in head first, but the end result is worth it!

Here are 5 simple tips for decluttering your kitchen with minimal effort:

1. Always Keep Your Countertops Clear

This is a simple tip that can save you a lot of time down the road. Keeping your countertops clear will help you find what you need faster and it looks much more organised as well. When possible, keep your appliances off to the side rather than on the countertop, so it doesn’t look cluttered with small appliances or accessories.

If something has been sitting there for months, then by all means get rid of whatever needs to go! If an item hasn’t been used in six months, consider donating it if someone else could put them to good use.

2. Keep Your Kitchen Drawers And Cabinets Organised

Kitchen drawers are a great place to store small kitchen appliances, or smaller cooking utensils.

It is important that you keep your drawer organised, but don’t go overboard!

Keep similar items together in one section of the drawer and label them accordingly. Label each area for what type of item it holds (knives, measuring spoons, etc). If you need more space use stacking bins, or dividers to separate certain types of tools from others. This will help make sure you can quickly find something when needed and also prevent clutter from accumulating within the same drawer.

3. Keep Your Food Cupboards Organised

Having food cupboards will result in more time spent searching for the things that you need and it can also be very disheartening.

If your cupboard items are stored on shelves, then make sure they are organised by type of item (beans, pasta, etc). So it is easy to find when needed. If something has been sitting there for months, get rid of whatever needs to go.

You may want to invest some money into adjustable shelving, or storage bins, which will give you more flexibility with how much space each item takes up while still keeping everything organised.

4. Keep Your Fridge Organised

Keeping your fridge organised will not only look nice, but it will also help you find what you are looking for faster.

Keep similar items together in one section of the fridge and label them accordingly with a dry erase marker or magnetic labels. Label each area for what type of item it holds (meats, veggies, etc). Also, keep track of expiration dates, so nothing goes bad before being used.

If you have a lot of condiments, then consider labeling the sides with dry erase markers and using magnetic spice racks on your fridge to store smaller items. This will help declutter your kitchen counters as well!

5. Clear Out Food You Won’t Eat Or Is Out Of Date

Get rid of food that has expired or just won’t be eaten. It is not good to keep it in the fridge taking up space.

It may be helpful to make a list of items you want to eat over the next few days, so that if something expires, then you can quickly get rid of it before going to the supermarket again. This will save time and money! If food has been sitting there for months, consider donating whatever needs to go.

Don’t forget your freezer either! Clear out any frozen packaged meals or leftovers that are no longer fresh enough to eat.

Now that you have a few simple tips for decluttering your kitchen, get started today. You will be happy with the results once everything is organised, so there are no more excuses to keep things cluttered anymore.
